1984, kid will have misconceptions of the science.
what does it tell us about teaching and learning
Last 40-50 years, it is no better, if you don't know it, you don't know how to teach.
What is the first thing I have to do? Figure out what our kids know. If we don't see the value of that, if we don't know what you understand, you can not teach.
NDSL stamp map: Make observations at different times of year to relate the amount of daylight to the time of year. (1 grade)
Size of the sun, the earth, distance to analyze and interpret data to determine scale properties of objects in the solar system.
This was the first try of the scale model in our group
Then we put those in the meter tape on the floor
I knew the size between the sun, 4 inner planets and the moon.
Presentation next week, Monday.
Lecture:
Alternative Theories
For the origin of the moon, it might is capture, have originally formed elsewhere, perhaps around another planet. It also might be fission, the material that formed the moon was ejected into space by a molten, but it doesn't work, it is not exist. It might be Co-formation, the moon formed alongside Earth 4.5 billion years ago, but also can not be explain. The last might be colliding planetesimals, the building blocks that grew into Earth, Mars and other full-fledged planets, but this need very perfect timing, that is a kind of lucky of the performance which also can not be explain.
The moon take 28 months of a orbit rotation around the sun.
The moon have gravity。
Pressbook:Our Solar System
Planets
8 planets:Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
Four inner planets–Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars–rocky planets because they have a solid surface.
Sizes and Distances of Planets
Show the scale model of the inner planets and the sun
It is a good idea which I can use in my future teaching is take children outside to see the Moon in the daytime. Show them how to observe the Moon, and keep a Moon journal, and encourage them to look for the Moon day and night. Look at your Moon journal to see what the patterns are. And try to recreate what they see outside with the Earth Sun Moon system.
